Notes on Software

By Ari

Use it yourself

You're foolish.

You cook for everyone but you never taste what you cook.

You use someone else's software everyday instead of making your software the best.

You let everyone else use your software when you can also use it alongside them.

Don't settle

You're cheap.

You use "looks good" instead of making it great.

You use "looks good" to try and not offend anybody and try to be liked instead of focusing on the user's needs.

You please everyone on your team when you can just focus on pleasing the user.

Work from the sidelines

You're the main-character.

You create instead of playing with the finished prototype.

You are addicted to cooking instead of only tasting.

You use all your time working to make the product when you can just use your time to work with the product as the user will when it's done.

Make life better

You're cruel.

You use paywalls to disable your user instead of giving them everything and more to create great work.

You use rushed features instead of features that work great all the time.

You use clever loopholes to trick your user when you can just be straight with them.

Be the user

Thanks.
